the unique features of the ADI-2 Pro FS R BE You have the possibility to replace them if there are interesting new devices on the market with maybe new advanced technology I also have monitors that I could connect digitally (Geithain RL906D), but IMHO you have more advantages if you use an external D/A converter compared to a solution inside of a monitor: We’ll have 55 Ohm instead of 110 Ohm.Ĭould you advise me something? Maybe I missed something and there is more elegant way? Having said that I'm a bit afraid to use optical (ADAT) connection cause don't want to any additional jitter and so on.Īnd of course I don't want to use any passive AES cable-splitters since we’ll have an impedance mismatch. I have to mention that I’m a some kind of audio purist, so don’t want to loose anything in the meaning of audio quality. ADI-2 Pro FS seems even more preferable since there is no much difference in price vs ADI-4 DD, but lots of other possibilities (moreover it's one more great DAC in the system, why not). Connect it via optical (ADAT) to Freface UFX+ and then connect the second pair of Genelec via digital (AES, XLR) to ADI-4 DD.Ģ. This is what I've found out and ways I see:ġ.

So, I'm trying to decide the best way to realise what I want. However, Fireface UFX+ has only one AES output. Now I want to connect one more pair of Genelecs (actually 8331) and also connect them via digital (AES, XLR) to my Fireface UFX+, instead of analog, since Genelecs sound far superior via digital input for my taste (no additional AD/DA stage) and switch between them on the fly (Speaker A or B) in TotalMix FX.

Connected them via Fireface UFX+ AES output (XLR) with daisy chaining method supposed by Genelec itself (one speaker to another, to another, etc)
